The Pierre Vervloesem Group at Freakshow Artwork Festival (30 September)
The freaking cool Pierre Vervloesem group will be present at the Freakshow Artwork Festival in Würzburg !
The non-commercial music initiative FreakShow Würzburg, supported by the non-profit association GALERIE 03, has been bringing top-class performers of jazz and avant-rock, zeuhl, jazzmetal, chamber rock, as well as retroprog bands together with young and/or unknown names of progressive rock music on stage for more than 17 years.
Over the years, the scene has gained a reputation far beyond the borders of Würzburg as a forum for high-quality music beyond the mass trends of rock and pop.
The FreakShow Würzburg feels very attached to the ideal of curiosity for 'the unheard' and therefore strives to always keep an open ear for new things, especially for the more oblique and complex ramifications of progressive rock.

New collaboration! Now booking: Pierre Vervloesem Band
PIERRE VERVLOESEM is one of the most prolific musicians/producers on the Belgian scene. He has played the guitar on over 300 albums and produced 33 CDs under his own name. He collaborated with Bill Laswell, Spencer Chrislu (Frank Zappa), Charles Hayward (This Heat), Wim Vandekeybus, Jan Fabre, Marc Ribot, David Byrne, Josse de Pauw, Jimi Tenor, Morgan Agren, among others. For 29 years he was Peter Vermeersch’s travelling companion in the bands X-Legged Sally and Flat Earth Society with whom he toured the world.
VERVLOESEM is a talented and atypical guitarist, nicknamed the Belgian Frank Zappa by the press. For the first time in his career, he decided to go on stage with his band and play a selection of his best compositions.
VERVLOESEM gets the best out of the Belgian-style compromise: the mastery of the jazzistic field, the use of the crazy and energetic rhythmics of classic rock, combined with the lively and limitless sides of the electronic universe. He offers a maverick work sprinkled with a touch of madness.
