Grijs Gedraaid is a cherry-tree project by Trefpunt, which in a ludicrous way trying to build a bridge between young and old through music and dance. The intention is to bridge the current generation gap and to address the problem of aging.
For this occasion, Walter Hus, one of the most versatile composers of the country, presents two projects that show how perfect cross-fertilization between generations and between genres at first glance looks. Walter Hus & The Next Generation is literally what happens when you build a bridge between musicians and a seasoned avant-garde composer. Avant-garde power jazz with a funky, danceable touch.
10:00 pm - 11:00 pm : Walter Hus & The Next Generation (Grijs Gedraaid)
Hus & The Next Generation originated at Theater aan Zee in 2016 and it's literally what happens if two generations come together and it fits perfectly into our project Grijs Gedraaid.
11:00 pm - 12:00 pm : The Orgonauts (Grijs Gedraaid)
The Orgonauts is another project of Hus. This band brings iconic dance and trance classics to a gigantic decap organ, you know, such a mechanical orchestra from the years still, combining that with the African mandingo beats of djembé grandmother Babara Bangoura, with icing on the cake is a techno version of our national hymn, the Brabançonne.
